DISCARDED DREAMS: a year of mattresses

Discarded Dreams is a full color, 86-page softcover book documenting a year-long photography project of accumulating discarded mattresses in the trash and on the streets of New York City. Originally organized as monthly video installments with short written entries at the Accumulation Project, the book shows many of the behind-the-scenes photos of the mattresses in their original contexts. A total of 223 mattresses were collected over the course of a year – averaging two mattresses every three days.

In addition to close-up shots of the surprisingly beautiful quilted fabrics and the mattresses in their sometimes bizarre locations, the book also includes short descriptions of interesting findings, unusual facts, amusing stories, and gross discoveries along the way. This offbeat publication appeals equally to both a sense of beauty and humor – a must have for your bedside table! It also includes a complete index of the entire project broken down month by month.

Coming soon! The Collector's Edition of Discarded Dreams which includes the limited edition hardcover version of the book and the 17-minute editioned dvd, housed in a handmade presentation box. Each copy is signed and numbered by the artist. Also currently in production: the editioned suite of select photographs from the series.
